Stop Waiting on God, God Is Waiting on You

Many are asking, "Is it God's timing? Should I move now? When does the Lord want me to start?" Let me give you a slight hint. NOW. The answer is right now. It's time to move.

Reinhard Bonnke once stated, "God always works with workers and moves with movers, but He does not sit with sitters." In other words, it's time to act and quit over-spiritualizing some things.

We wait for a perfect peace to set in, a breeze to blow on us, a whisper, or a dream at night to occur. Let me break your expectation. Your answer is most likely not going to happen in such a manner. You either do what God called you to, or you don't.

We imagine kneeling at a revival conference and the heavens to open with the words, "it's time to move." What a fairytale! Life doesn't work like that, and neither does God. He is not the alarm clock that tells you, "It’s time to go." Unless it’s a rare occasion. Instead, with cleverness, He stamped the answer in His Word.

Read the book of Mark. There's an essential keyword in that gospel. Do you know what it is? Immediately. For example, "Immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness." (Mark 1:12).

As soon as Christ was water baptized, the Holy Spirit set His into action. The devil tempted our Lord in the wilderness.

Jesus walked to the fishermen and called them to come after Him. "They immediately left their nets and followed Him" (Mark 1:18). They didn't pray about it, ask their parent's permission, or inquire their pastor if they should follow a stranger from Nazareth. They didn't linger but obeyed instantly.

The book of Mark is marked with action. You cannot dose off on this book because it's better than any Marvel movie you've seen. It's go-time for Jesus, the disciples, and all of Israel. Jesus shook the nation to the core. Why? He knew His time was short, so He got to work.

Let's apply this lesson to our lives. "Oh Lord, should I call this person today?" Just do it. "Is this the right season for Bible college?" Absolutely. "When should I pray for this man's healing?" Right now! Stop playing around as if it's a game. If it's on your heart and aligns with God's word, then get it done.

Let's get to the work of God. Souls are at stake while we fast for 2.5 days whether to witness to our neighbor. Knock on their door already. Call them. Do something!

We read Jesus gave us many commandments. Some as, "Do to others what you would have them do to you." Or, "Repent, and believe the gospel." To all these commands, add a "now." Repent. When? Right now. "Believe the gospel." "When" Obviously, straight away.

The instructions are simple and easy to understand. Jesus doesn't want us to walk in darkness for a time and then come to Him. He desires us to convert and walk in light immediately. So if it applies to our salvation, why should it not apply to all the other parts of scripture?

Let's make a decision not to be like Lot. Lot was told by the Lord not to wait but to move quickly out of Sodom and Gomorrah. Lot took his sweet time; therefore, his end was bitter. His wife turned into a pillar of salt, and his daughter slept with him after getting him drunk. What a miserable man he was, all because of the lack of movement.

We have limited time on this earth. When Jesus commands us to leave our sin and follow Him, let's not hesitate to turn. Leave your sins behind and follow immediately after Christ. The more you wait, the significant consequences can occur.

"What about the day of Pentecost? The disciples had to tarry in Jerusalem until they were endued with power," you might ask. Correct. Before the Holy Spirit fell on the disciples, we waited on Him. After the promise, He is waiting on us. We received power; therefore, let's release it to the world.

"Now is the day of salvation," (2 Corinthians 6:2) the Lord says. Do not wait another moment and repent now. Otherwise, it could end worse than Lot and his family. Move now. Buy tickets for that mission trip you've been praying about. Give that big gift to someone. Start serving in your local church. If the Lord put something on your heart, do not put it off. Act now. Godspeed.
