How Do I Decide Where To Go For Missions?

"He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.'" Mark 16:15

Most believers pray about where to go. I don't. I just go. Where is the greatest need? Where can I be most effective? Where do I want to go? It’s not rocket science. Choose a place and go. The key word is GO. Going is not sitting. Going is not praying. Going is not merely thinking about it. To go means to take action. It means to start moving. It means to GO!

Have you played Monopoly? When you pass GO, you collect $200. It's simple; we must go. Then the rewards and results will follow.

I once saw a map of Bangladesh, mentioned it to my pastor, and ended up flying there. My friend was stuck in Thailand during COVID, so I joined him, and we spent three months in Thailand doing hundreds of outreaches. Cambodia was next to Thailand and open to the gospel, according to Google, so I flew there with my speaker. I conducted one hundred outreaches in one month and then went to Africa. I heard the Philippines was receptive to the Gospel, so we went there as well. If I hadn't gone, we would not have had the impact. Sometimes, the less we pray, the better. We just need to act.

Am I saying not to pray? No. Pray. But combine prayer with action. "Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." – James 2:17.

The question is not about where we go, but rather that we take action. It's more about what we do when we go. It's elementary: preach the gospel. What does it mean to preach? In biblical times, the word "preach" meant to proclaim as a herald. When a new king ascended to his rightful throne, he was glorified. The herald rode through the city, villages, and towns proclaiming one thing: "There's a new king on the throne!" That's our message as believers.

Whether you're an evangelist, a pastor, a middle schooler, a new Christian drinking spiritual milk, or a pew warmer, we are all called to proclaim the gospel. "There's a new king on the throne. His name is Jesus!" We point to Him, not to ourselves or our ministry. Our job is to proclaim. "What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs." – Matthew 10:27. Jesus died. Jesus was buried. Jesus was raised from the dead. Jesus is victorious. Jesus overcame death and hell. Jesus is King. Simple, right?

Now, who do we proclaim to? The verse says it all: to all creation. I admire how Reinhard Bonnke used massive speakers to preach to millions at once. His voice echoed throughout the city, booming through the streets and rattling the windows. That's what I call proclaiming. He was preaching salvation, and millions responded.

We preach to every person we can reach. The more, the better. If you don't like math, here's a simple solution: the more people you share the gospel with, the more people will get saved. It's not our duty to convert the sinner, but it is our duty to speak it out. We are sowers of the word of God. Speak by faith. Faith moves mountains. The more people hear, the higher the chance they'll be saved. Now, go get 'em, tiger. The Holy Spirit is with you. Let the lion out. Choose a country, a city, a location; buy your flight, connect with local believers, and step out. It's that simple. Just go.
